The Cádiz football club has announced their season ticket campaign for the 2024-2025 season, entering one of the most challenging periods in recent years. Despite being relegated to the Segunda División, the club has chosen to retain the pricing structure from their previous season in La Liga, which has sparked significant controversy among fans.
Retained Pricing Structure Causes Stir
The only real change this season is that Cádiz will play in the Segunda División, but with ticket prices almost identical to what they were in La Liga. Manuel Vizcaíno, the club president, along with vice president Rafael Contreras and presidential aide José Mata, have emphasized the discounts based on membership tenure.
"For every year of membership, fans will receive a 6% discount on the base price," explained Vizcaíno.
However, these base prices still range from €1,325 for Lower Tribune seats to €450 for the North and South Ends. The maximum discount, which applies after 14 years of membership, will see prices drop to €285 and €90 respectively for these sections.
Discounts for Loyal Fans
Despite Discontent
The announcement has not been well-received among the cadismo community. Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, citing that the prices do not adequately reflect the club's relegation status. The club's social media teams have been actively trying to calm the situation by highlighting the available discounts.
"The 6% annual discount for loyal members is still in place," tweeted the Cádiz official account.
Timeline and Methods
Renewal periods for season tickets will run from June 14 to July 12, with location changes taking place on July 15 and 16. New subscriptions will open on July 17. Fans can renew their tickets online, 24/7, either through the club's website or its member app.
Climax of Social Tension
While the high-profile signing of Paco López and the well-received new kits had managed to ease some tension among the fans, this season ticket campaign threatens to widen the rift once more. The upcoming season will be crucial in determining whether Cádiz can regain the trust and support of its devoted fans.
